Introduction Sockets-MX is an implementation of the standard UNIX and Windows sockets interface directly over the MX API. Sockets-MX is currently available for Linux 2.4 and Linux 2.6. Sockets-MX enables applications using the socket interface to be directly mapped onto the Myrinet network using the low level MX API. Depending on the operating system, Sockets-MX has been implemented using different approaches. More information can be found on this Sockets-MX overview page. Sockets-MX has been tested on recent Linux 2.4.27 and Linux 2.6.14 kernels (IA32, EM64T, AMD64). For Windows the focus was on x64 Windows Compute Cluster Server. Additional supported Windows platforms are Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows Server 2003 as well as Windows 2000 Datacenter Server. Download Access to Sockets-MX is limited to license holders.
